Business adminstration is one of the oldest departments offered by the Anadolu University, Institute of Social Science. Social Science Institute has started its programmes in 1982-1983 education period. The department offers various programmes for those who wants to specialize in finance, accounting, marketing, management and quantitative methods. There are several master programmes with and without thesis. There are also doctorate programmes in various fields. The principal education philosophy of the department is to provide a sound professional training which is consistent with the needs of the contemporary business and academic world. The business department offers courses which enable students to acquire theoretical and practical business knowledge, ability to analyze business problems and analitic thinking. Business department is one of the main sources to train and develop qualified academicians of the future. So students are involved in many research activities. The department is in collaboration with several international universities, with the private sector and with goverment institutions. The institute is located in the main Campus of Anadolu University which is called Yunus Emre.

This program was designed for the candidates who received their Bachelors degree from non-business fields, preferably working or with practical working experience. The main goal of the program is to provide the students with the knowledge on the most recent developments in the field of business, to drill down the common managerial problems by conceiving the management process as a whole and to provide the students with the ability of achieving appropriate results.

In accordance with our pre-defined goals, the content of the program was designed to provide the students with a strong theoretical and practical knowledge base to define, analyze and solve managerial problems.

The program is tend to be completed within three semesters and will be ended with a project study. Besides consisting of basic and up-to-date theoretical courses on business, program also consists of courses that were designed for providing students with a practical point of view. Case studies and researches are the most important points to be considered within the program.

The Department is in collaboration with several foreign universities.

The department offers a Master of Science in Business with the collobration of University of Cologne. The program is carried out in Cologne, Germany with the participation of Anadolu University and University of Cologne.

The department also offers MBA program with the collobration of The State University of New York Empire State Colloge.

Business department offers Master of Science in Business in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Students may use Social Sciences Institute s facilities.

Social Sciences Institute has 12 classes; two meeting room, (equipped with datashows, computers), a Computer Laboratory (which has more than 20 computers all connected to the internet).

The research performed by the members of the department has been appreciated and rewarded by national authorities.
